Thyroid and parathyroid operations are safe and effective but important risks remain. This article offers a practical, evidence-based guide to mitigating and managing hematoma, nerve injury, thyroid storm, hypocalcemia, and persistent hyperparathyroidism. We emphasize high-risk anatomy, intraoperative decision-making, and structured management of these complications.
